Can i use this powersuply inplace of a more expensive one?
I use a Boss distortion pedal (i forget the number but not the one thats distortion/overdrive just the orange distortion) and im kinda gettin tired of 9volt batteries loosing charg and makin it sound not as good ans squeek much easyer yada yada yada… so i looked at the powersuply and heres the info on it
9.6V DC
200mA
Barrel connector
Reverse polarity
and its 20 bucks….id rather not shell out that much if i dont have to so i looked around and found this one laying around…can i use it???
mli powersuply
direct plug in class 2 transformer
model no: dv-9300s
input:120VAC 60Hz 6W
output:9VDC(thats 9 volts dc rite?) 300mA 2.7VA
its a lower voltage but higher megaamp correct??? will it blow my pedal (which i payed a pretty penny for so id much rather not gamble with it unless im possitive)
no it will not work you will ruin what you got

What capacitors should be used with 7805 voltage regulator?
According to the datasheet below, there should be a 0.33μF capacitor on the input and a 0.1μF capacitor on the output:
http://www.fairchildsemi.com/ds/LM%2FLM7805.pdf
I don’t have any 0.33μF capacitors, and I’m wondering if it would cause a problem to use a 1μF instead?
Also, I have the voltage coming directly from a transformer through rectifying diodes into the regulator. Should I add a large decoupling capacitor at the input as well?
Thanks for your consideration.
Yeah, go ahead and use the 1uF – it should work just fine.
Also, YES, use a filter capacitor between the diodes and the 7805 – [i.e., the positive lead to the cathodes of the diodes, and the negative leads to circuit ground or - ]
The filter cap should be between 1000 uF and 2000 uF (the voltage will be determined by your transformer)
How to get an xbox 360 made in U.S. to work in Egypt?
I lived in the U.S. and brought my XBOX 360 with me when I moved to Egypt. The voltage in the wall outlets here is 220V! In America it’s only 110V. So I bought a converter here from the Radio shack that converts 220V to 110V but it still almost blew out my XBOX… so I asked around and people said that the problem might be wattage as well… what is the correct wattage and voltage for a U.S. made Xbox? Any ideas on what sort of device I would need to get? Thanks in advance…
On the back of the Xbox it should say how many volts and amps it uses. Watts = volts x amps.
Do I need Power converter or an adapter for using a Dell Inspiron 700m notebook in France?
I’m going to study in France for 5 months (I live in Chicago now). I have a Dell Inspiron 700m notebook computer.
People have told me I need a converter, not just an adapter. But others have said most new notebooks are multi-voltage, so you would only need to buy an adapter. Is this true?
Does anyone know about the 700m? If I need a converter, which one should I buy?
You need to verify two things before you decide which way to go. First find out what voltage and frequency is used in the area you will be at. I spent some time in Europe and although most areas use 220vac some that have high influx from the US do have 110vac available in their buildings.
If not:
Look at your current power supply, if it reads 110-220VAC and 50-60Hz as the input then it will be fine with just an adapter for the type of wall outlet used in France. If it reads only 110-120VAC as the input you should contact Dell for a new power supply or see if you can get one on eBay.
