What is the best alternative energy out right now?
I recently crashed my 2004 cavalier, and before i dump all this money into it to fix it, i was thinking about trying to convert it to an energy efficient vehicle. …
i know it probably sounds ridiculous to a lot of people, but it would be a challenge and a learning experience as well. So, what would be the best way to make my car energy efficient?
- solar?
- water?
- bio-mass?

Any thoughts or ideas on how to power a car with something other than gas, please throw it at me.

I’m assuming you mean alternative energy in the context of your vehicle?
This will sound really silly, but maybe consider riding a bike, especially for short range errands? I’m fortunate enough to live only 3 miles from work, so have been biking in for years, and running errands on bike, too. We do have a van, but in the first 7 months we owned it, we only drove 500 miles total. Needless to say, we don’t need to fill gas in our cars very often.
For cars, I have optimism about all-electric vehicles, but think it will be 3 years before we get a really good one. If I was in your position, I’d fix the Cavalier until it was barely driveable while waiting, or get a small, conventinoal gasoline vehicle, with the intention of dumping it in a few years.
